Il podere La Marronaia si trova tra vigneti e uliveti su una collina che dista soli 2 Km ca. da San Gimignano. Secondo vecchie leggende si sarebbe trovata qui al centro di castagni da frutto una torre di vedetta. Marronaia è infatti il nome di un bosco di castagni. Nell'VIII secolo la Marronaia entrò a far parte dei possedimenti del convento di San Gerolamo di San Gimignano e fu trasformata in una azienda agricola. Da allora molte famiglie hanno abitato l'antica torre alla quale sarebbero state annesse sempre più nuove costruzioni. La famiglia Dei è entrata in possesso del podere nell'anno 2000, lo ha rinnovato rispettandone lo stile di costruzione e durante i lavori ha riportato alla luce antiche tracce che ne testimoniano il grande passato. Da qui si gode di una vista superba: a nord gli appennini delimitano in lontananza lo sguardo dell'osservatore, mentre a sud si innalzano le caratteristiche torri del paese di San Gimignano. Si tratta di un luogo ideale come punto di partenza per bellissime passeggiate. Qui sono offerti anche tour in mountainbike dalle 2 alle 8 ore a seconda dei gusti. Il podere è anche un'azienda agricola biologica. Produce vini di qualità come la Vernaggia di San Gimignano e il Chianti dei Colli Senesi, nonché un ottimo olio.
Al primo piano abita la famiglia Dei. Il piano terra è stato invece suddiviso in tre unità abitative ognuna con proprio spazio all'aperto e ingresso proprio.

Sant' Antonio 4 + 2 (ca. 65 mq) Questo appartamento ha come gli altri due una camera per due persone, un bagno ed un grande soggiorno con angolo cottura, zona pranzo, un divano letto e un camino. Da qui si accede ad una loggia con un'altra camera ed un bagno. Come già detto, ogni appartamento ha un proprio spazio all'aperto con arredi da giardino e in più c'è una grande terrazza per tutti gli ospiti adatta a chi vuol fare conoscenze. Un po' al di sotto è situata la piscina, perfettamente immersa nel verde della campagna. E' prevista anche una piccola palestra, un piccolo centro di fitness con sauna, idromassaggio, alcuni attrezzi e stanza per i massaggi. Un'amica della famiglia ha uno studio di massaggi e viene su appuntamento e ovviamente a pagamento. Pensiamo che questo centro di benessere non sarà pronto per il 2003, ma gli Italiani sono ottimisti e la famiglia ne è certa.

 PODERE LA MARRONAIA This farm is set on a hill among vine yards and olive groves and is only 2 km from San Gimignano. According to old legends, an old vengeance tower - surrounded by chestnut trees - stood in its place. "Marronaia" is actually a name given to a chestnut trees wood. In the VIII Century La Marronaia became one of the possessions of the San Gerolamo convent in San Gimignano and was later changed into a farm. Since then, a lot of families have lived in the tower, to which new buildings were added. The Dei family bought the place in 2000. They have refurbished it but have tried to preserve the original style of the buildings. During the redoing of the place, old ruins, belonging to the old structure of the building, were found. They show the importance of La Marronaia in the past! You can enjoy a unique view form there: to the north, you can see the beautiful Apennines, while to the south stand the magnificent San Gimignano towers. The place is an ideal starting point for beautiful walks. Tourists are also offered mountain bike ride tours which last from 2 to 8 hours. The farm also produces high quality wines, like the "Vernaccia di San Gimignano" and the "Chianti dei Colli Senesi", besides a very good olive oil. The Deis live on the first floor. The ground floor is divided into three flats, each with its own entrance and garden.

Sant'Antonio Also this flat has got a bedroom for two people, a bathroom and a large living room with cooking facilities, a dining area, a sofa bed and a fireplace. From here you get to a loggia where there is another bedroom and another bathroom.

As we have already said, each flat has got its own garden, with garden furniture. There is also a large common terrace that all guests can use. The swimming pool is in immersed in the green of the Tuscan countryside and is not far away from the farm. There will be also a small gym, probably in 2003: a fitness centre with a sauna, a Jacuzzi, some machines and a massage room. If the gym is ready next year and you need a massage, you will be able to make an appointment with a lady friend of the Dei family. She has got a Massage Centre but she'll be willing to come to the farm. Her fees are reasonable.

 PODERE LA MARRONAIA Der Gutshof La Marronaia liegt zwischen Weinbergen und Olivenhainen auf einem Hügel nur ca. 2 km von S. Gimignano entfernt. Nach alten Überlieferungen stand hier inmitten von Esskastanienbäumen ein Wachturm. Marronaia ist der ursprüngliche Name für einen Kastanienwald. Im 8. Jahrhundert ging La Marronaia in den Besitz des Klosters San Gerolamo in San Gimignano über und wurde in einen landwirtschaftlichen Betrieb umgewandelt. Seit dem haben viele Familien den antiken Turm bewohnt, an den sich immer neue Gebäudeteile anschlossen. Die Familie Dei hat das Gut im Jahr 2000 übernommen, stilgerecht renoviert und dabei antike Spuren wieder ans Licht gebracht. Von La Marronaia genießt man eine unvergleichliche Rundsicht: Im Norden nur vom fernen Apennin begrenzt, im Süden auf die charakteristischen Türme von San Gimignano. Der Familienbetrieb ist ein idealer Ort zum Ausspannen aber auch Ausgangspunkt für herrliche Wanderungen. Im La Marronaia werden auch geführte Mountainbike-Touren angeboten, je nach Wunsch 2 - 8 Stunden. Dieses Gut steht aber auch für biologische Landwirtschaft. Es erzeugt Qualitäts-Weine (Vernaggia di San Gimignano und Chianti Colli Senesi) und Olivenöl von erster Güte. Im 1. Stock wohnt Familie Dei. Das Erdgeschoss wurde in 3 Wohneinheiten aufgeteilt, jeweils mit separatem Außenbereich und eigenen Eingang.

San Antonio 4 + 2 Diese Wohnung hat wie die anderen ein Schlafzimmer für zwei Personen, ein Bad, einen großen Wohnraum mit Küchenzeile, Essplatz, Bettcouch und offenen Kamin. Von hier gelangt man auf eine Galerie mit einem weiteren Schlafzimmer und Bad. Wie schon erwähnt, hat jede Wohnung ihren eigenen, ungestörten Sitzplatz im Freien, aber es gibt auch noch eine große Terrasse für alle Gäste, wenn man mal Gesellschaft möchte.

Eine Waschmaschine (Wertmünzen) in einem Gemeinschaftsraum kann von allen Gästen benutzt werden. Etwas unterhalb liegt, wunderschön in die Landschaft eingebettet ein Schwimmbad (12x6m). Vorgesehen ist daneben eine "piccola Palestra" also ein kleines Fitness- bzw. Gesundheitszentrum mit Sauna, Whirlpool, einigen Geräten und Massageraum. Eine Freundin der Familie hat eine Massagepraxis und kommt auf Anforderung, natürlich gegen Bezahlung Wir denken, das dieses Gesundheitszentrum 2004 noch nicht fertig ist, aber Italiener sind Optimisten - Signore Die glaubt fest daran.
